What is a “Serve Day?”

Serve Days are opportunities for service within the Flint Hills community in which teams made up of Flint Hills volunteers converge on a community and saturate it with the love of Christ. Serve Day is a One Day Mission opportunity for any one or any church to minister to the physical and spiritual needs that exist only a short distance away. Each Serve Day offers ministry opportunities for all ages and capabilities and lunch will be provided!

A few months before the Serve Day, registration forms will be made available on line and in Flint Hills churches. Volunteers will be able to select their top three choices for service ministry and we’ll use your preferences to form up teams. That way, right after a short worship and prayer, we can all get right to work.
See you there!

The First Serve Day

We started this tradition in June 2013 at La Harpe, Kansas where Duwayen and Debbie Bearden Serve. Duwayne said “ I remember when we only had 20 something registered. But when I saw trucks pulled up with mowers – it was the moment God said ‘I have shown up.’ It was all God! It was at that moment when Acts1:8 actually happened – I saw people put feet to ‘you shall be my witnesses.’”

Getting the Word Out in Your Church

As we reported earlier (and many of you personally witnessed) the folks who participate in Serve Day are a blessing to many people – and to themselves as well!  Our own videographer, Fred Stewart, has put together the following video that you can share with your congregation to show them just why this ministry has become an annual event with participants from across the Association!
